Eindhoven Airport sees big jump in passengers

Eindhoven Airport saw considerable growth in the number of passengers during the first three quarters of this year. The airport announced on Thursday that the number of passengers increased with 16 percent compared to the same period last year. The number of flights grew by 10 percent. Between January and September 3,052,000 passengers used the airport, 425 thousand more than the same period last year. The total flights amounted to 22,525. In the first 9 months of last year it was 20,480. Eindhoven Airport expects an increase of 15 percent to 3.9 million passengers for the whole year. In 2013 the airport received 3.4 million passengers. The increase in passengers is the result of more destinations being available. In the third quarter 67 destinations were flown to, 5 more than in 2013.
