Google gives NEMO €1m grant

California-based Google has donated one million euro to Amsterdam’s science museum NEMO as part of funding for an interactive exhibition to "inspire the youth and make them enthusiastic about mathematics and programming.” Google hopes that the donation will go towards supporting and developing talented individuals in the field of science and technology, the company said. “We have now, and will have in the future, a great need for technician,” museum secretary Sander Dekker to television show Hart van Nederland. “It is important that children come into contact with technology at a young age and see how fun and interesting technique can be. "Where better than in NEMO?” NEMO has expressed delight on their Facebook page at receiving the donation, saying that this partnership with Google offers opportunities for both society and business. The exhibition will be on display at the NEMO until 2019.
