Kids drop shopping cart three stories on girl, 8
A group of children hurled a shopping trolley out of a third story apartment on Jan Luykenlaan in Leiden on Sunday, hitting an eight-year-old girl while she was playing on the street. The victim was immediately rushed to an area hospital with head injures, concussion and bruises to the neck and back.
Police on Monday reported that the girl was held by medical staff overnight for observation, but miraculously recovered with only slight injuries.
The trolley was thrown by three children aged 10, 11 and 12 years old, two of which were immediately arrested and questioned. The children were handed over to their parents custody. The remaining child will be questioned by police later this week.
Police have informed the Youth Care Agency of the incident.
