Kraftwerk sets 8-night Paradiso residency

World-famous German electronic music group Kraftwerk will spend eight consecutive evenings on the main stage of Amsterdam's Paradiso, the band said. The band plans to perform one of their top eight albums during each performance, followed by sets made up of their additional work. Speaking to the NL Times, a representative for Paradiso said it will be a record for most consecutive shows played at the venue. No band has played more than three straight nights at Paradiso, a feat undertaken by bands like the Black Crowes and Dutch group De Dijk. English singer-songwriter and DJ FInk is slated for three nights in November. The residency is scheduled to begin next year on January 16. Ticket will go on sale from September 13. Over the eight nights, Kraftwerk will perform their top albums in chronological order beginning with their 1974 breakthrough album, Autobahn. The band will conclude their stay in Amsterdam with a performance of the 2003 album Tour De France, accompanied by projected 3D visual effects. Kraftwerk was founded in 1970 and is considered by many to be one of the most important founders of electronic dance music. Their current world wide tour has included full album performances at the MoMA in New York, the Tate Modern in London and The Sydney Opera House.
