Q-Fever patients may sue Netherlands

Ministers Edith Schippers of Health and Henk Kamp of Economic Affairs have been deemed responsible for damage by around 320 Q-fever patients in The Netherlands. These patients believe that the government took too long to establish measure when the epidemic struck. They also claim that the locations of contagious goat farms across the country were consciously kept a secret, Metro Nieuws reports. Ivo Sindram, the lawyer of this group of patients, announces their position on Thursday. Per patient, the damage can differ immensely. Claims are therefore not clear either, and have not yet been named, Sindram explains. Goat farmers who had been infected by Q-fever almost a year ago have also been deemed responsible for damages by the patients. There are more than 100 goat farmers who were infected.
