Lelystad terrorized by mosquitoes

Residents of Ganzendiep and Ijssellaan streets in Lelystad are considering a signature drive to urge their local council to do something about the mosquitoes that are terrorizing their neighborhood.

According to reports there are millions of the annoying mosquitoes in the area. “They come around 4.00pm. You leave your house to walk to the store and bam! A whole swarm of mosquitoes in your face,” a resident told journalists. Apparently the nuisance was even worse last month. The insects have been identified as Asian mosquitoes, a harmless little animal. It reportedly took base in the province after it was imported to the Netherlands by a business man who deals in tires. Public Health Service GGD has said that it does not transfer illnesses.
