Entrepreneurs ill-prepared for illness

According to insurer Univé, 43 percent of entrepreneurs do not opt for sufficient coverage because they have a working partner, become ill unexpectedly, or have savings. More than 50 percent of entrepreneurs in the creative industry have encountered moments of ill-preparedness with insufficient coverage. In business services, this is 49 percent and in construction 47 percent. According to the research from Univé, a third of the 350 entrepreneurs asked are not able to financially support sick leave and inability to work of its personnel. Of these, 61 percent has no replacement staff. High costs are the main reason why entrepreneurs fail to get sufficient coverage.
