Messi: Win is for deceased journalist

Lionel Messi dedicated last night's win over The Netherlands to Argentinian journalist Jorge 'Topo' López, who was killed in a car crash in São Paolo earlier Wednesday morning. Lopez is the second Argentinian sports reporter to die in Brazil on World Cup duty. Last week, Maria Soledad Fernandez died in a car accident traveling to Belo Horizonte from São Paolo. According to the Irish Independent, Lopez was killed when a stolen car evading the police collided with his taxi. On the Argentina National Football Team Facebook page, a quote from Messi laments the loss of the journalist. "A very special thought for Jorge 'Topo' López, this win is dedicated to you, my friend. Bug hug to the family, lots of strength."
