Arson possible in massive Veenendaal fire

Police in Veenendaal are investigating whether the large-scale fire on Saturday night was a case of arson. The fire ravaged a business park in the area. A police helicopter concluded that there were two sources of the fire. According to a spokesperson for Safety Region Utrecht (Veiligheidsregio Utrecht), the fire could have been started. The blaze caused high tension ducts above the burning meat wholesale business on the Bobinestraat to burst. This did not affect electricity, but it did make putting out burning ducts difficult, as they were collapsing. Nobody was injured in the fire, and no dangerous substances were released into the atmosphere.
