Neckermann pushes on but fires 185 staff

Post order company Neckermann that has been declared bankrupt is pushing on but laying off the lion's share of its employers. The company said in a statement that it would restart with a new configuration. After a court in Breda declared the company bankrupt this morning, curators quickly reached a deal with a new management and investment company Axivate Capital. The assortment will be expanded, but of the 200 employees only 15 will be kept on. Some 185 people will be laid off, their tasks outsourced. Zeeland headquartered Neckerman once stood as one of the largest post order companies in Europe with a popular catalog, but in recent years the company suffered from fierce competition.
