Dozens of cops investgating senior's death

Police investigating a report of suspicious activity in Tricht, Gelderland found a 66-year-old woman dead in her house. Police have not revealed the cause of death, though they are saying they believe she was the victim of a crime.

Officers first arrived on the scene just after 8am. Twenty minutes later, paramedics were called to the Lingedijk house. The victim has not yet been identified. A large-scale investigation team, Team Grootschalig Onderzoek (TGO), was dispatched to the crime scene, which included between 20 and 25 detectives. Residents in the area were reportedly shocked by the news. The street is said to be relatively quiet, with many out of town for the long holiday weekend. Police blocked cars from entering Lingedijk as far as 800 meters away from the scene, newspaper Gelderlander reported. Onlookers were kept over 50 meters away.
