Hundreds of Ajax supporters banned

Some Ajax supporters threw fireworks from a box in the stadium during a match. These hooligans have been banned from the upcoming weekend game between Ajax and Heracles, meaning they might miss out on a champion match. !--more-- This decision was made by the directors of Ajax and the municipality of Amsterdam. Police investigations made it seem that the fireworks that were thrown during the game against PEZ Zwolle in de Kuip came from the benches behind the goal. Ticket sales details were able to determine who the culprits were. Their club cards will be blocked for the upcoming game on Sunday. Camera footage shows that a group of people came into the stadium wearing balaclavas and hoods. For this reason, the stadium managers believe this was a calculated and "coordinated action", according to De Telegraaf. If this particular group of Hooligans continues to disrupt or cause problems at matches in Amsterdam or Almelo, then the 400 Ajax supporters will also be banned from the final Eredivisie match against NEC on 3 May in the ArenA. As of now, de Kuip stadium will have to pay €60,000 to fix the damages to the field and the stadium. The culprits will be forced to contribute as much as possible. On Sunday, Ajax could maintain the country title if they can manage to at least equal Almelo. If Ajax wins, the tribute will continue, despite the actions of the hooligans.
