School quality on the rise in NL

The quality of education has further improved, according to the Education Inspectorate. The number of weak and very weak primary and secondary schools has decreased again. 97.8 Percent of primary schools qualified for the minimal requirements, and 90 percent of the secondary schools.

Compared to 2010, when 6 percent of the primary schools was weak and 1 percent very weak, now those numbers are 2 and 0.2 percent respectively. The changes were less significant in secondary education, but special education, both on primary and on secondary level showed significant improvement. The improvement is due to "boards, municipalities and inspectorates staying on top of the problem," said a spokesperson for the Education Inspectorate.
