Train conductor attacked, Hilversum

A train passenger assaulted a conductor at Hilversum Sportpark station Monday morning. The NS claims that the man may not have had a ticket, and started throwing punches at ticket control. The police were in action quickly, an managed to apprehend the suspect. Trains between Utrecht and Hilversum were delayed some 20 minutes due to the incident. The NS started a campaign last week against aggression in trains. They want to protect their NS-staff from violence, and spread the motto "Hands off our colleagues!" The campaign even has its own website which, along with posters and films, have been trying to call attention to the issue of violence against NS-staff for three weeks.
