Church questions minister Borst comments

The national board of the Restored Reformed Church, the General Synod, denounced the statements of minister Van Andel from Montfoort. Van Andel stated it wasn't a coincidence the former minister of Health, Els Borst, lost her life in a crime, and called her an angel of death. The national board announced it a statement it's not up to the church or a minister to judge the death of the former minister.

As the minister of Health, Borst introduced legislation that contradicts the church's principles. To make matters worse she at some point, after the Euthanasia Act was passed, stated: "It has been done," Jesus' final words. However, the minister offered sincere apologies. The church expressed their sympathies to the surviving family. The Synod should discuss the issue with Van Andel and explain to him what is acceptable, and the minister should denounce his statements before taking his place on the pulpit again, according to fellow minister Reinier van Kooten in the program Dit is de Dag.
