Mother prevents kidnapping; suspects at large

A 28-year-old mother managed to prevent the kidnapping of her 4-year-old son, Monday, March 10, around 17:25 on the Dunant street in Zoetermeer. Police are looking for witnesses. Two men jumped out of a burgundy van next to the mother and her stroller.

They tried to take the child out of the stroller, which the mother was able to prevent. The mother swiftly alarmed the police who searched the area without success. The van sticks out and has several rusty spots. There was no license plate and the windows were presumable taped off. The mother described the first suspect as a man between 40-50, with a hat, a broad head, a stubble, and a light tan. The second suspect is about 1.65m in height, same age, broad head, with long, black hair in a ponytail, also has a light tan. Anybody who witnessed the attempted kidnapping or has any information that might help the police track down the suspects is asked to contact the Zoetermeer police on 0900-8844 (local charge) or 0800-7000 (anonymous).
