Woman shot in Rotterdam break-in

A woman was shot on Tuesday night during a break-in at a home on the Zijdewindstraat in the city center of Rotterdam. The woman was brought to hospital with a bullet wound in her stomach.

The break-in happened just before 3 a.m. The severity of the woman's injuries is not yet known. According to RTV Rijnmond, she was alert and able to be spoken to. The police has apprehended one suspect. He had facial wounds, and was brought to hospital for these. In the area of the Central Station, a second man was apprehended shortly afterwards but he seemed not to be involved. The police are saying that there are four possibly culprits.
