Woman killed in car accident on A28, Putten

A woman was killed in a collision on the A28 in Putten on Wednesday night. A private vehicle hit the woman(49) when she wanted to cross the road to get to the Esso filling station. According to eye witnesses, the woman was driving in a van from Putten to Nijkerk with a man, when the vehicle stopped at the side of the road near the filling station. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. The emergency services shut down the highway between Putten and Amersfoort for some time. Wim Hageman, who offers camera work and press coverage at calamities for Omroep Gelderland, tweeted this picture at the scene of the accident.
