Man shoots woman on bus

Police say they are hearing witnesses about a shooting incident inside a bus in Almere that has left one woman injured on Wednesday.

The shooting occurred around midday at the bus/train station. What prompted it is unclear, but according to police the shooter fled the scene after firing off his gun and injuring a 34-year-old woman. The 39-year-old man from Almere was arrested in the Bouwmeesterbuurt about an hour later. Police had meanwhile cordoned off part of the station’s premises for their investigations. Several people who were on the bus when the shooting took place were being heard as witnesses. Police say they also want to know if there were other people involved.
