Man shot in leg by police

Police in Rotterdam shot an armed man in the leg Monday morning, after he resisted arrest. The man was causing unrest in a café on the Stadhuisplein, which prompted guards to call for police assistance. The atmosphere both inside and outside the café was grim, the police said. Just after 5:00 am, a large group of people came outside, and officers were told that one of these men was carrying a fire arm. The police tried to apprehend him, but he resisted. At this, the police officers felt forced to shoot. The man was hit in his leg. He was detained and brought to hospital for his wounds.
