New suspect in Rotterdam parking meter explosion

A fifth suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the case of the fireworks incident on the Wolphaertsbocht in Rotterdam last New Year's Eve. A 19-year-old Rotterdam local was arrested in Delfshaven. He is suspected of involvement in the incident. On New Year's Eve a parking meter was blown up on the corner of the Wolphaertsbocht and Den Hertigstraat, critically injuring a 14-year-old local boy. A 26-year-old man also sustained injuries to arm and face. The 14-year-old boy is still in a coma in a hospital. parking meter explosion
IVT RTDzuid / Twitter Police arrested four youths on Sunday and Monday. An 18-year-old man was arrested Sunday at his parental home. His also 18-year-old brother reported to the police shortly afterwards. A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon in front of his home in Rotterdam. A 16-year-old girl was arrested Sunday. She was released in the course of Monday pending further investigation. The other three suspects who were arrested earlier this week, were brought before the magistrate today, Wednesday, January 8th. The magistrate extended the custody of two of the suspects to 14 days. One of the 18-year-old suspects was released, but remains a suspect.
