Fyra Mess Could Cause NS Cutbacks
The NS may possibly have to take the setback of Fyra of 119 million euros for their account. Finance Minister, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, ( PvdA ) and State Secretary of Infrastructure, Wilma Mansveld, ( PvdA ) are going to engage in talks with the railway company, according to a letter of the Minister to the Lower House.The state is shorted 119 million euros in dividends, because of the fiasco with Fyra, which had to be removed from the track again because of technical problems, shortly after its release. This amount would be collected from the budget for the infrastructure fund, reducing investment possibilities in roads and railways. The House was unhappy with this and wondered whether the NS could raise the money themselves by working more efficient.
