Teeven: illegal aliens quota remains

State Secretary Fred Teeven from Security and Justice intends to have 4,000 illegal aliens deported next year also, which can be concluded from a letter to Parliament. He wants to come to a 'quantitative agreement' with the police for 4,000 transfer files for Repatriation and Departure Service (DT & V).Teevens approach primarily focuses on criminal aliens and troublemakers, and not just on numbers. During the negotiations of the budget for the justice department, Thursday, it became clear that the State Secretary would prefer a smaller group of aliens with a criminal background be deported, than a larger group, only because they are not allowed to stay in the Netherlands. Nevertheless, Teeven will appeal to the commissioner if the numbers lack. That is the way it works with setting goals, according to the State Secretary.
