Bowie In Groningen
The exhibition of the British pop star David Bowie, who currently attracts large crowds at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, will be coming to Groningen. The exhibition will start in December 2015 at the museum in Groningen, the museum announced on Tuesday.
The exhibition comprises of more than 300 objects from Bowie's personal archive and shows the life and career of the 66-year-old singer, musician and actor. Among them are handwritten lyrics, original costumes, photos and album designs.
Museum director Andreas Blühm is "happy and proud" that he can get 'Bowie' to the Netherlands. "The exhibition appeals to the imagination of many, not only the fans of David Bowie. The interface between fashion, design and contemporary art fits perfect to our museum."
In London, the exhibition, which shows until Sunday, has attracted more than 300,000 visitors. At the Victoria & Albert Museum, many international stars showed up among the visitors, including Vivienne Westwood, Robert Redford and Kate Moss.
After London, the exhibition will travel to Toronto, Sao Paulo, Chicago and Paris. In Groningen, the objects of Bowie will be exhibited for 4 months.
