NL to Support IT project in Bangladesh

The Netherlands will grant a €6 million aid to support the development of IT exports in four countries including Bangladesh. Netherlands' assistance is integrated in the NTF-III (Netherlands Trust Fund) project. The scheme is an extension of the completed NTF-II project. NTF-III will add to the growth of Bangladeshi IT exporters in the coming years, the Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) said in a press release.

The NTF-III joint agreement was recently signed in the Netherlands at the World Trade Organization’s office. It was headed by ITC Executive Director Jean-Marie Paugam and CBI Managing Director Hans Klunder. The project will be carried out by International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva with the help of BASIS and other local trade support committees. BASIS President Fahim Mashroor and Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen were also present at the event.
