Benefit Concert for SC Veendam

On Monday, about 3,000 people attended the benefit concert for SC Veendam, which was organized by the soccer team from the Jupiler League. The team expects to raise thousands of euros for the club. This club from Groningen was declared bankrupt last week and SC Veendam only had 8 days to appeal. On Tuesday afternoon, the club will need 675,000 euro to turn back the bankruptcy into a moratorium on payments. By Saturday, 225,000 euro has been raised and it may have already increased at present. The former player Henk de Haan, who recently started the Foundation “Save SC Veendam”, have organized several campaigns in the past week to raise money.
