Eurostar trains to, from Netherlands increasingly popular; 4 million passengers in 2025
Eurostar has again transported more passengers to and from the Netherlands, the rail operator reported in its 2025 annual figures. The company also announced new international routes, including a connection between Amsterdam and Geneva, Switzerland.
In 2025, 4 million passengers traveled to and from the Netherlands on a Eurostar train. On the route from Amsterdam to London, Eurostar transported 18.3 percent more passengers. Between Amsterdam and Paris, 6.7 percent more people used the train. In total, the international train travel provider transported 20 million passengers, 500,000 more than in 2024.
Over the first five months of 2026, Eurostar recorded further growth in passenger numbers to and from the Netherlands. On the route to Paris, there were 18 percent more travelers compared to the first five months of last year, and for London, traveler numbers jumped a massive 130 percent. The latter is mainly due to a significant expansion ot the service. Thanks to the renovated Amsterdam terminal, more trains are running between Amsterdam and London, accommodating more passengers.
Eurostar booked a revenue of over €2 billion in 2025, an increase of 1.7 percent. According to the company, this is primarily due to the increased number of passengers. Profit before deduction of interest and taxes was €337 million, slightly less than the previous year when the company recorded a profit of €346. Eurostar blamed a “challenging economic climate,” with high inflation and high infrastructure costs.
For 2026, the company expects to transport even more travellers. Eurostar invested €2 billion in up to 50 new trains, with which it aims to develop routes between London and Frankfurt and London and Geneva, in addition to the new connections between Amsterdam/Brussels and Geneva.
