Five hospitalized after large fire in Hague home

Five people were injured in a home fire on Wormerveerstraat in The Hague on Sunday evening. They were taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, the fire brigade reported.

The fire brigade responded to the single-family home at around 8:30 p.m. The fire broke out in the rear of the home and caused a large amount of smoke, a spokesperson for the fire brigade told Omroep West.

The police evacuated the neighboring homes while firefighters battled the blaze.

Firefighters quickly got the fire under control, but not before it did a large amount of damage. The home is uninhabitable, the fire brigade said.

The current condition of the injured residents is unknown.
