Breda officials urge visitors to avoid city center amid carnival crowds

The city of Breda has urged carnival attendees to avoid the city center due to extreme crowding Saturday. “The city center of Breda is filling up! Do not come here anymore,” the municipality said.

The municipality advised those already present in the city to relocate to less crowded areas and adhere to the guidance provided by the LED screens. “Are you already here? Do your polonaise in a quieter place and keep an eye on the LED screens,” the municipality added.

Earlier in the afternoon, Breda authorities temporarily closed several barriers to manage the growing crowds. The LED screens provided directions to alternative routes.

Other cities, particularly Noord-Brabant and Limburg, expect large numbers of visitors this weekend. As of Saturday, Breda is the only city that has issued a public warning advising people not to come.
