Residents forced to evacuate homes in Wageningen after truck fire
Residents of approximately five homes on Treubstraat in Wageningen were forced to evacuate in the middle of the night after a truck caught fire in the street, De Gelderlander reported.
The blaze, reported around 2:40 a.m., sent flames shooting toward a nearby apartment building, shattering several windows.
Firefighters responded quickly after receiving the emergency call. A 112 photographer at the scene described the fire as intense enough that people had to leave their homes immediately. Smoke also caused damage to some residences.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The incident comes amid heightened concern over vehicle fires in residential areas. Fire services continue to investigate and warn residents to maintain a safe distance from the scene.
