22-year-old arrested after police find 550 kilograms of illegal fireworks in Eindhoven
Police have seized 550 kilograms of heavy illegal fireworks from a shed located in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Eindhoven and arrested a 22-year-old man, authorities reported on Instagram.
The discovery was made on Saturday after police received an anonymous tip. Officers traced the information to a shed in the Gestel district of Eindhoven, where the fireworks were being stored among homes. Police said storing the fireworks in a residential area created a serious safety risk.
The 22-year-old suspect, who is from Eindhoven, was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing and storing heavy illegal fireworks, police said.
“If all the fireworks in the shed had ignited, the consequences would have been impossible to foresee,” police said on Instagram.
