Drenthe therapist suspected of sex crimes during massage treatments
Police in Drenthe have arrested a 49-year-old man from the municipality of Aa en Hunze in connection with a probe into possible sexual offenses related to massage services, police reported. Authorities are urging anyone who may have been a victim or has information about the suspect’s activities to come forward.
The investigation began after multiple reports emerged regarding massage services offered by the suspect, both online and in person.
According to police, the services were advertised on platforms including Facebook and Marktplaats, and sessions reportedly took place during both daytime and evening hours at various locations across Drenthe.
On Wednesday, August 13, the man was formally arrested. Police also conducted a search of his residence in Gieten. Investigators believe that more adults may have been affected and are actively seeking additional victims or witnesses.
“We believe it is possible that more individuals have been victimized,” police said. “If you have received massages from this person or have relevant information, please contact us.” Those with information can reach the police at 0900-8844, or anonymously via 0800-7000.
