Over €27 price difference in refeuling at cheapest and most expensive Dutch gas station

Carefully picking which gas station you refuel your car at can really make a difference to your wallet. The average price for a liter of petrol in the Netherlands is currently €1.928, but the differences between gas stations are large. A full tank of 50 liters of petrol will cost you over 27 euros more at the most expensive pump in the Netherlands than at the cheapest, comparison site Independer discovered.

The most expensive petrol in the Netherlands costs €2.259 per liter, the cheapest €1.708. That is a difference of over 55 cents per liter, amounting to €27.55 for a full tank of 50 liters.

Petrol prices not only vary widely across the country, but also across each province and even at the municipal level. At a provincial level, the price differences are largest in Overijssel (€26.55) and Drenthe (€26.50). The differences are the smallest in Flevoland, but even there, it is around 20 euros per tank.

18 Dutch municipalities have price differences of over 20 euros per tank between the cheapest and most expensive gas stations. Súdwest-Fryslân in Friesland and Venray in Limburg have the biggest price differences at over 24 euros.

Independer compiled a list of where you can find the cheapest petrol per province. That list can be found here.
