Teens use scooter to abduct Amsterdam boy before beating him up, robbing him in park
A group of teenagers abducted a teenage boy under threat of a gun, drove him around Amsterdam Oost on their scooter, and then beat him up and robbed him in an Amsterdam park on Tuesday afternoon. “The police are investigating the case and are urgently looking for witnesses.”
The abduction happened on Valentijkade at around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The boy was walking when he saw six other boys with three scooters. Two approached him, wearing balaclavas. They threatened him with a firearm and forced him to get on the back of a black Zip scooter. One perpetrator got on in front of the victim, and the second perpetrator got on behind him.
Sandwiched between two kidnappers, the boy traveled a long route through the Amsterdam Oost district, ending up at an Albert Heijn store on Lang van Cocagneplein. At the supermarket, they met two other boys who joined the group for another long ride through Oost, ending at the Frankendaelpark, between the greenhouse and the water.
At the park, the two teenagers who abducted the boy filmed him, threatened him, beat him up, and robbed him. The boy managed to escape during a break in the violence.
The first suspect is a boy of around 16 years old. He is about 1.78 meters tall with slightly tanned skin and a thin build. At the time of the abduction and violent robbery, he was wearing a black balaclava, black Montclair jacket, black North Face pants, and orange and blue Yeezy high shoes. He carried a Louis Vuitton bag containing the firearm he used to threaten the boy.
The second suspect is about 15 years old and about 1.58 meters tall with “lightly tinted skin” and black eyes, the police said. He too wore a balaclava and a black Montclair jacket. His pants were light green and from the Nike brand.
The victim was between the two suspects on the scooter the entire time they were riding around Amsterdam Oost. “That must have been noticed by witnesses,” the police said, asking them to come forward. The police are also looking for any relevant camera footage, including from dashcams, security cameras, or doorbell cameras.
