Thousands of PSV fans fill Eindhoven streets after championship win
Thousands of PSV supporters flooded the streets of Eindhoven on Sunday to celebrate the club’s 26th Eredivisie title after a season marked by unexpected twists, according to Omroep Brabant.
Fans gathered early throughout the city to watch the decisive match against Sparta Rotterdam. When PSV scored their third goal to make the score 3-1, cheers erupted as supporters realized the championship was secured. The title was officially confirmed at 16:23 when the referee blew the final whistle.
The municipality said festivities began at 2 p.m. at Stadhuisplein and the Markt, where large screens broadcast the event. At 4 p.m., the PSV team and staff departed the Philips Stadion for a parade through the city. The route included Frederiklaan, Mathildelaan, and Vestdijk, ending with an official reception at the Stadhuis at 6:30 p.m.
