Sunny and warm weather expected for King's Day; Temps up to 25 degrees next week

After several wet days, a stable period of spring weather is starting in the Netherlands today. The King’s Day celebrations on Saturday will be sunny and warm, with maximums between 15 and 19 degrees. The temperature will climb even higher next week and thermometers may hit 25 degrees in parts of the country from Wednesday, Weeronline expects.

“Thursday was rainy in many regions, but today the weather looks a lot friendlier,” Weeronline said. The sun will break through from the northeast in the afternoon, and maximums will range between 12 degrees on the Wadden Islands and 17 degrees in the south.

King’s Night will be dry throughout the Netherlands. A coat is recommended, as it will cool down to between 3 and 6 degrees.

“Saturday, King’s Day, promises to be the first of a series of dry and fairly sunny spring days,” Weeronline said. There will be some cumulus clouds inland, but the sun will shine brightly and temperatures will climb higher than on previous days, ranging between 15 degrees along the coast and 19 degrees along the border with Belgium. Remember your sunscreen and to stay hydrated during the King’s Day festivities.

Sunday will see temperatures rise to 20 degrees in the south and southwest. Elsewhere in the country, the mercury will climb to between 15 and 19 degrees. “It is pleasant spring weather with lots of sunshine, but some friendly cumulus clouds will also develop inland.” No rain is expected, and the wind will be weak to moderate from the east.

Next week, the wind will turn to a south-easterly direction and bring warmer air into the country. Temperatures will steadily climb, and from Wednesday, summer values of 25 degrees Celsius will be within reach in the south. The days will be sunny and dry.
