Changeable weather this Easter weekend; Warmer from Sunday
Netherlands residents who were hoping to celebrate the end of a long winter with some sunny weather on Easter weekend are out of luck. The weekend will be cloudy with scattered showers and only a little room for sunshine. Good Friday and Saturday will also be on the chilly side, with maximums around 13 or 14 degrees. From Sunday, thermometers will climb higher again, according to the KNMI.
Today will be predominantly cloudy with some showers and a weak to moderate northwesterly wind. Maximums will climb to around 12 degrees.
Friday will start cloudy, with rain in the east that can continue into the afternoon. Elsewhere in the country, the sun may occasionally show its face as the day progresses. Maximums will climb to around 13 degrees.
The rest of the weekend will continue changeable, with mostly clouds and some chance of rain, but also occasional sunshine. From Sunday, maximum temperatures will gradually climb a bit higher again. The KNMI expects maximums around 17 degrees for every day between Sunday and Wednesday.
While the weather is maybe not what people had in mind for a nice long weekend in the spring, it is quite typical for Dutch spring weather. The long-term average maximum for the time of year is 13.5 degrees.
