Zwolle man accused of online sex abuse of 34 young girls recruited on TikTok, Snapchat
A 34-year-old man from Zwolle is on trial for sexually abusing 34 minor girls online. He approached the girls on TikTok and Snapchat. The man has confessed to the crimes, he said during a hearing on Tuesday.
In 2022, the police visited 34-year-old Daan F. after a victim’s father had filed a complaint against the man. The father found nude photos that his daughter had sent to F.
The police initially suspected that F. had made at least 100 victims. Ultimately, they were able to identify 34 girls. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the victims were between 8 and 14 years old.
F. told the judges that he targeted younger girls “because they carry out orders faster.”
The man abused the children between June 2021 and May 2022. It was about a sense of power, he told the court. “I never thought about the consequences for them or their environment.”
Some girls sent him nude photos out of fear that he would get angry. F. claims he never threatened him.
One of the judges asked if he might have made a hundred victims. “That’s possible,” the suspect responded.
