Man sentenced to three years in prison for sharing and acquiring child sex abuse videos
The court in Dordrecht sentenced Ronald K. from Arnhem to three years in prison, one year of which was conditionally suspended, for multiple sex crimes, such as distributing, offering, acquiring, and possessing child sex abuse videos and bestiality videos. Detectives had found 124,000 images and videos on equipment in K.'s home.
K. was a moderator of a website called Alice in Wonderland, which was taken down by German police in March of 2024. Users of the website used it to chat with each other about sexual abuse of children and would share sex abuse videos with each other.
The investigation showed K. to be a suspect. After the website ceased to exist, authorities claim that K. tried to start his own site of child sex abuse videos under the name Little Cuties, but he was unable to get the site online due to technical issues.
A psychologist has diagnosed K. (34) with a pedophile disorder, for which he must be treated. K. said during the court hearing last month that he has watched child sex abuse videos since he was 15. He added that he wanted to get caught so that he could turn his life around and “settle his debt.”
He expressed his regret for his actions, with the realization that “they are real children that are being abused.”
The Public Prosecution Service had recommended four years in prison, with six months of those conditionally suspended.
