From nearly freezing last night to 20°C today; Even warmer temps tomorrow
After a night with near-freezing minimums, Netherlands residents can look forward to a wonderfully warm day on Thursday. Maximums will climb to 20 degrees in many places. Tomorrow will be even warmer. After the weekend, the temperatures will gradually drop back toward typical for the time of year - around 11 degrees in the afternoon, according to the KNMI.
Thursday will be a mix of sunny spells and cloud cover, with no rain expected and little wind inland. On the coast and on the IJsselmeer, the wind will be moderate from an easterly direction. Maximums will climb to between 15 degrees on the Wadden and 20 degrees in the south.
Overnight will be fairly clear, with maybe some fog in the northeast. Minimums will vary between freezing in the northeast and 6 degrees in the south.
Friday will be sunny and dry with a moderate easterly wind, that may be strong near the sea. Cloud cover will increase a bit during the afternoon. Maximums will range between 13 degrees on the Waddena and 22 degrees in the south.
The cloud cover will gradually increase during the evening and light rain will start falling in the south around midnight. The weekend will have some showers, though there will still be room for sunshine on Saturday. It will still be very mild for the time of year, with maximums around 18 degrees on Saturday and 17 degrees on Sunday.
After the weekend, the weather will be changeable with temperatures slowly decreasing to values around the long-term average, the KNMI said. By Wednesday, maximums will climb to around 10 to 13 degrees.
