Two men appear in court for drugging boy and using him as a sex slave

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) suspects three people of sexually abusing a boy for years after first getting him addicted to GBH and ketamine. According to the OM, the men from Huizen and Amersfoort used the victim as a sex slave. Two of them have been detained since September and appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday in Utrecht. The third suspect was represented in court by his attorney.

The prosecutor announced during the first public hearing that the victim is a homosexual who grew up in a religious family and would often run away from home in his teenage years. This led to him getting very addicted to drugs. “He became a total zombie, and as a result, he was taken to hospital,” said the prosecutor. Roelof E. allegedly offered the boy on sex dates with others.

In the spring of 2024, the human trafficking investigation team started an investigation into E. and tried to take the victim out of the “hopeless situation.” The victim has since kicked the habit and is in a psychiatric clinic.

According to the OM, the suspects were a criminal organization and have been guilty of rape, sexual exploitation, and assault by making the boy addicted to drugs until September 2024.

The men were arrested in September when the boy was 19-years-old. The second suspect who allegedly provided the drugs is a 60-year-old man from Huizen. The third suspect is a roommate of E. He is said to have played a minimal role and spent two weeks in custody last year.

The police need until March to complete the investigation, after which the Public Prosecution Service can adjust the summons if necessary. They are also waiting for reports from the psychologist and psychiatrist who examined two of the suspects. Their lawyers then want to call the victim and his mother as witnesses before the examining magistrate.

The next hearing is scheduled for April 4.
