Missing Amersfoort man found dead in the forest after days of searching

The body of a 58-year-old who had been missing since last week was found on Thursday in Amersfoort, RTV Utrecht reported. Ahmed had gone missing a week ago on Monday. His body was found by a passerby on the Genestetlaan in the nature area Klein Switzerland.

The person who found the body notified police immediately, who then closed off the area before starting a forensic investigation. According to police, there is no sign of foul play.

Several of Ahmed’s relatives came to the nature area this morning after it was announced that a body had been found. The family had been searching throughout Amersfoort for days and said that they had also already looked in this area.

Ahmed was last seen on Monday, December 23, in his home in Dorrestein, Amersfoort, The man suffered from Dementia and was mentally handicapped, and therefore, the family was very worried when they saw that he was not home.

In addition to the family, the Veteranen search team, police, and hundreds of volunteers helped to search for Ahmed.
