Six arrested in Rotterdam shooting

Police have arrested six suspects in connection with a shooting at a residential complex on Piet Paaltjensplein in Rotterdam-West. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, November 25, when the entrance door to the complex was struck multiple times, allegedly by automatic gunfire. No injuries were reported, but the door was riddled with bullet holes.

The shooting took place at approximately 2:35 a.m. on November 25. Police believe an automatic weapon was used to fire multiple rounds at the building’s entrance. While no one was injured in the incident, the severity of the attack prompted an intensive investigation.

Police announced Saturday that four men and two women were taken into custody. The suspects include a 16-year-old boy, a 20-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman, all from Rotterdam; an 18-year-old man from Portugal; a 19-year-old man from Capelle aan den IJssel; and an 18-year-old woman from Curaçao.

Authorities also seized a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting. Investigations are ongoing to determine the roles of each suspect in the attack.
