Police arrest 16-year-old for throwing an explosive at a tram during riots in Amsterdam
The police have arrested a 16-year-old suspect on suspicion of throwing an explosive at a tram last Monday on Plein ’40-’45 in Amsterdam-West, which resulted in a fire. The police reported.
The boy is also suspected of involvement with an explosion at a school in Amsterdam-West that same night. The suspect is currently in custody and will be questioned at a later stage.
A large group threw fireworks on Monday night at Plein ’40- ’45 in Slotermeer, Amsterdam. This caused a tram to catch fire. Rocks were also thrown at officers in a police van. Three people have already been arrested for these incidents. One person was injured because of the fireworks.
Two suspects who were involved in the violence that followed the Ajax- Maccabi Tel Aviv match turned themselves in on Thursday and Friday. Blurred photos of them had been shown on the police site politie.nl and the TV show Opsporing Verzocht.
Recognizable images of three other suspects who have not yet been arrested will be shown on Politie.nl on Friday evening from 8:30 P.M.
