Sunny and mild week ahead after rainy Monday; Temps could hit 20 on Thursday

The Netherlands can look forward to “the best of autumn weather” this week after a gray and rainy Monday. “From Tuesday, it will be sunny and consistently mild for the time of year,” Weeronline said. Limburg may even see thermometers climb to 20 degrees on Thursday.

Monday morning and afternoon will be gray in many places, with light rain falling from time to time. With a weak to moderate wind from the southwest, afternoon temperatures will slowly climb to around 15 degrees on the Wadden Islands and around 17 degrees in Limburg.

This evening and overnight will be soaking wet as an intensive rain area moves across the country from the southwest. Some places may get over 20 mm of rain. Minimums will drop to between 8 and 10 degrees.

Tuesday will see a completely different weather picture. “The day will start out completely sunny and it will be dry everywhere,” Weeronline said. Some cumulous clouds may form in the afternoon, but no rain is expected. Maximums will rise to 15 to 17 degrees, with a moderate southwesterly wind.

Wednesday will also have “top-notch outdoor weather” throughout the country. The sun will shine everywhere, maximums will climb to around 16 degrees, and there will be little wind. Thursday will be even nicer, with maximums between 16 and 19 degrees. Limburg may even hit the 20-degree mark. “This makes it remarkably mild for the time of year. At the end of October, temperatures of around 14 degrees are common.”

Friday and Saturday will likely be back to changeable weather, with a few showers and maximums more around typical for the time of year. “From Sunday onward, the chance of a dry period will increase again, although this is still very uncertain.”
