Suspect in Rotterdam tram shooting arrested for incident that injured two

A 19-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested on Friday for possible involvement in an incident where shots were fired at a tram on Thursday. Two people were wounded in the shooting.

The incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. on the Groene Hilledijk in Rotterdam-Zuid. Police previously said that the two people who were injured were at the tram but have since said in an update that the two victims were outside of the tram when they were shot.

One of the people stayed behind in the tram and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Authorities have not released any information about the victim's condition.

The other victim fled the scene and has not been found as of yet police have not released a description of the individual but investigators are looking for that person.

Police found three shell casings at the scene. “The police are investigating this shooting incident and have already spoken to many people,” authorities said on Friday. The investigation is ongoing, and police asked witnesses and anyone with information about the case to contact them.
