Fake date setup leads to 69-year-old man being robbed and kidnapped in Eindhoven

A 69-year-old man from Gilze in Brabant was the victim of a violent robbery in Eindhoven on Saturday evening. He was also held hostage for several hours, police reported on Sunday.

The man thought he had a date at a residence on the Celebeslaan in the northeast of Eindhoven with someone he met on a dating website. However, when the 69-year-old arrived there, he was attacked by several men. They then forced him to get into his car, a gray Range Rover Evogue, and drove with him for hours through Eindhoven.

During the robbery, the perpetrators stole money from the 69-year-old, but the police did not specify how much. After the hours-long drive, the man was left in his car, and the perpetrators drove off. The Brabant police are investigating the case and are looking for witnesses and camera footage of the robbery and hostage-taking.
