Heavy rainfall causes flooding in Brabant, Limburg and other Dutch provinces
The heavy rainfall on Saturday night led to flooding in several places in the Netherlands. The southern part of the country, in particular, had to contend with a lot of water.
Heftige #wolkbreuk is weer voorbij.

Reports of flooded streets came from Geleen, Sittard, and other places in Limburg. Roads and tunnels were also flooded in Brabant and Gelderland. In Brabant, for instance, the fire brigade had to pump out and mop an entire floor in the nursing home Merefelt on Parklaan, Omroep Brabant reported.
In Geldermalsen, a restaurant on the Marktplein reported such extensive water damage that it remained closed on Sunday.
Heavy rain showers also flooded a large part of Eindhoven. In addition, a tree fell in the Meerhoven district. In Eindhoven, the area around the Noord Brabantlaan was mainly hit. The Croy was also flooded, Omroep Brabant reported.
In Veldhoven, near Eindhoven, the first floor of a nursing home was flooded, reported Brabant media, including the Eindhovens Dagblad. However, a spokesperson for the fire department had no information about this on Sunday morning and could not confirm it.
On Saturday, the national meteorological institute KNMI issued a Code Yellow warning for the provinces of Utrecht, North Brabant, Gelderland and Limburg due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
