No trains between Woerden and Alphen for ten days
Train passengers who normally travel via Woerden and Alphen aan den Rijn will have to take an alternative route for ten days. From Saturday, work will be carried out on the track between the two places, meaning that no trains will be able to run there.
Those who want to travel from Woerden to Alphen or vice versa can travel via Gouda or opt for replacement buses, which also stop at the station in Bodegraven. Until August 20, the fastest train connection from Utrecht to Leiden is via Schiphol Airport, and those wishing to travel from Woerden to Leiden should travel via Den Haag Centraal. The journey will then take about half an hour longer.
Travelers are advised to consult the timetable for up-to-date travel information or use the NS app to find alternative routes.
Rail operator ProRail is renewing the tracks and some waterways under the tracks between Woerden and Alphen. In addition, ProRail will also replace several culverts and build a walking culvert in Nieuwerbrug aan den Rijn.
