Attack on Golan Heights unjustifiable, says Dutch foreign minister

The attack on a football field in Majdal Shams on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights is "unjustifiable," according to Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp. He strongly condemned "this senseless violence" on X. At least 12 people, including children and young people between the ages of 10 and 20.

"Our deepest condolences to the victims' families and the Druze community. Such violence is unjustifiable," wrote Veldkamp, ​​who spoke of "horrible images of the rocket attack."

According to the Israeli government, Hezbollah is responsible for the attack on the football field. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that the attack would be met with an unprecedented response.

Following the rocket attack, Israeli fighter jets carried out attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon overnight, the Israeli army announced Sunday morning.

"Overnight, the Israeli Air Force struck a series of Hezbollah terror targets deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, including weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure in the areas of Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, and Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam and Tayr Harfa," the Israeli military said.
